South Carolina schools to receive $3.1 million worth of locally grown food

South Carolina students will be eating more food grown by local farmers. To that end, a partnership has been created, involving the South Carolina Department of Agriculture and the South Carolina Department of Education.

Under the USDAs Local Food for Schools Cooperative Agreement Program, the South Carolina Department of Agriculture is working with South Carolina distributor Senn Brothers to purchase foods and beverages from local farmers and distribute them to school districts for use in the
