New EU-funded food technology project to lower food waste

The three-year project, which is known as GRATITUDE ('Gains from losses of root and tuber crops'), features 16 project partners from Ghana, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Portugal, Thailand, the UK and Vietnam.


It aims to identify new ways to lower food waste during the production of food crops, which is important to families in parts of Africa and Asia. It also aims to develop new food products such as snack food from the crops, and identify new markets.
