Fake pig ears sold in market in China: report

This food scandal has been identified after a consumer purchased the product in a market in Ganzhou city. The consumer complained of a strange smell while cooking the product, and reported the incident to food safety officials earlier this month, reported China Daily.


The officials tested the ears and found that they were made from gelatin and the chemical sodium oleate, which is used in the production of soap.
