The upgrade is a critical part of the $197m (150m) poultry investment program unveiled with the full year results.
The improvements in animal welfare that are part of this investment come on top of a 10m program to reduce campylobacter levels in poultry, which have been praised by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and have won the approval of major customers.
