Madhya Pradesh gov't opens centres for onion sales

The Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday 2 June announced the opening of 64 centres across the state for purchasing onion at Rs 6 per kg. The centres will operate from June 4 to 30.

The move came after chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Wednesday that the government will purchase onions at Rs 6 a kg to alleviate farmers' problems, as we reported here.
