Spanish fruit, veg imports increased 14% in 2015

In 2015, Spain imported 14% more fresh fruit and vegetables; from third countries, 17% more fruit and vegetables were purchased, amounting to 1,161 million euros, and 11% more were purchased from the EU, amounting to 810 million euros.

Morocco was ranked as the first supplier outside of the EU, with imports equating to 337 million euros (+35%). Strong growth in imports from Brazil, Chile and Peru was also noted.

Within the EU, France was still the main supplier, with 255 million euros worth of
