The recall was initiated after California Department of Public Health confirmed the detection of campylobacter bacteria in raw cream.
According to the department, from January through April, throughout California, nearly ten people with campylobacter infection reported to have consumed Organic Pastures raw milk prior to illness onset. None of the patients have been hospitalized and there have been no deaths.
The dairy is one of two firms in the state that produces unpasteurized dairy products.
