China detects 15,000 cases of substandard food in 2012

The State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) told a press conference earlier this week that irregularities were discovered as a result of almost 10m food business inspections across Chinasince the beginning of the year

Dairy products, edible oils, seasonal foods and alcoholic beverages were among the major food categories targeted by inspectors.
