But among those with high mercury, omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids no longer helped reduce therisk.
The researchers also found that DHA was more strongly associated with reduced risk of sudden cardiacdeath, compared to EPA.
The study suggests that high mercury exposure may offset the protective effect from fish oil againstsudden cardiac death.
