Canadian government to strengthen food import regulations

The new measures will require food importers to be licensed and have measures in place to keep unsafe food out of the market, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) said. The agency has proposed a user fee for importers, and is accepting comments from industry on this fee until June 29.
